The film sees a late night confrontation turn to fuel a small town murder mystery that perfectly questions the role and boundaries of what it is to be a ‘good’ neighbour.
The film holds twists within it that areplayed out wonderfully by the immensely talented David Strathairn, a talent previously revered for his anchor role in the film ‘Good Night and Good Luck’. Childs has previously worked with Documentary, television and feature productions. His depth of experience shows out with ‘The Shovel’ in its simplest qualities that are so perfectly executed and is a perfect first foray into Dramatic Short Film.
Full length Film included within issue #19 of Specialten.
