They are, but also coupled perfectly with still life and landscape. So quickly apparent to us, as we sat and talked was the great knowledge of art history that he has, his knowledge of the most classic of painters, the early great sculptors and a real affection that he has for art. His studio is a mass of work in progress, by his very upfront admission he is thrilled to now be in a very large studio, somewhere that he can come to and add work to pieces that have been evolving for some time. It is these visits of time to each piece that give the works their life and their depth.
